  • What is the best way to work with Invested Central?

A lot of new members ask the question, "what is the best way to work with Invested Central."  Here are a few suggestions.  One of the first things we suggest to our new members is to GO SLOW when first working with us. This is meant to give you a chance to get to know our "style" better instead of going all out on the alerts when you start receiving them.

We have gotten feedback from some members that they "paper trade" some before they jump in full speed ahead, and that is a really good idea. Once you feel more confident, then you can start taking advantage of the intra day stock alerts.

Second, understand that we adapt our strategy to the market. We can go either long or short, all depending upon the market conditions. You may see us with a lot of longs or a lot of shorts, or you might see us turn on a dime, switching from one direction to the next. Or, you may see we stay in cash until we feel comfortable with the market. Bottom line: we let the market dictate our strategy and we do not like to force trades. Always remember that being in cash is being in a position.

Also remember that we do not care how long it takes for one of our stock alerts to hit our target price. It could happen in a few minutes, a few hours a few days, a few weeks, or it may never happen at all. What we care about is IF not WHEN a target price is hit, and we will react accordingly.

You should pay close attention to our updates and consider following our suggestions. We are not always right, but we are good at what we do, and if you stay disciplined we believe that will serve you well in working with us. As an example, when we say in our updates consider taking profits on a position, we mean it, so pay attention to our updates.

If you find yourself in a really tough market, consider playing fewer shares. If you normally play 1,000 share blocks, think about playing 300-500. If you play 500 think about a few hundred; just reduce your overall risk by trimming back a bit until things stabilize.

Always, if you are just uncomfortable, consider sitting on the sideline instead of forcing a trade. Preserve your capital to play another day.

Just as important; keep your stop losses in place. We know everyone hates getting stopped out, but the key word here is DISCIPLINE, as it is the key to making the IC system work for you.

Also pay attention to the Trading Tools we put out each day; these are simple yet important things to remember each and every trading day; common sense, but that is important here as well.

Also, for those of you who like macro trend ideas, the Bowley Trend is a great indicator with a great historical track record. Just use it as another indicator.

Finally, pay attention to the key support and resistance levels we put out both during daily updates and on the Daily Market Report. We feel we give really superb guidance, so if you are trading on your own stock ideas, at least understand the market trends.

We've also have our Chat Service so take advantage of this excellent forum. We post the chat transcripts on the web site each day if you miss one and you will find the chat transcripts loaded with information and fresh ideas.

  • Can you explain how your Alert service works?

Invested Central issues long and short alerts on those stocks they think members might want to consider taking a position in for a trade. We base our selections on the same technical analysis we teach our seminar students. The objective is to put out alerts that have a high probability of success.

We issue our alerts three ways; via email, via text message and posting to the IC web site. The email and web postings are automatically available to all members. If you want to receive alerts via text message you need to go to the Text Message link on the home page and go from there. By getting alerts all three ways, you have a back up to the back up to the back up.

Our alerts show the time of the alert, the stock name and symbol, the price at alert time, the price support (stop loss area) and price resistance (price target). Note that some alerts have Intra Day stops (suggesting you consider getting out of a position if that price is hit intra day) and others have Closing stops (suggesting you consider getting out of a position if the stock closes below that price when the market closes). Note that we indicate whether an alert is a long or short candidate and that the support/resistance numbers on a short become the price target and cover points, respectively.

Our alerts are meant to be acted on as quickly as possible, so consider using the one percent rule, meaning not chasing an alert if it has moved up (on longs) or down (on shorts) one percent or more from the price it was issued at. In other words, don't chase alerts if you miss one. Either let it come back to you or just wait for another one; there will be plenty.

Alerts are categorized as Active or Trend, with the Active ones meaning we expect the trade to be quicker with the Trend a candidate that could be around longer. In a rocky, whipsaw market expect to see more of the Active variety.

Once an alert has been issued it will stay around as an Existing Set up on our DMR and IC will continue to keep you up to date on the status of each set up. Ultimately, an alert will come off the report when a Profit Alert or Coming off Report email/text message is sent to members.

Remember that the name of the game is to make money so once you have entered into a position keep your stop loss and price target numbers in mind, and NEVER hesitate to take a nice profit along the way, whether or not IC issues a profit alert or a coming off report alert.

  • Can I send you emails or call the office for answers to individual stock questions?

Unfortunately, we cannot answer individual member stock questions. First, we are not registered investment advisors, and second, we would never get any work done! Instead, you can ask questions during our member chats as well as call into our radio programs with your stock questions.

  • What takes place in the Chat room?

The chat room is a place to ask questions of IC personnel about individual stocks and the market in general. There's a tremendous amount of information exchanged between IC personnel and community members. Just go to the Member chat room link to gain access to the chat room when it is open.  - Top -

  • How much money do I need to work with Invested Central?

Everyone comes with a different amount of money, so it all depends what you are trying to accomplish. You need to take into consideration broker commissions, your own personal situation and what you are comfortable with. Just be careful you are not getting in over your head.

When we are having a seminar, we post the date on our web site. Our live in person seminars are posted on the web site as we determine dates.

  • If I trade options will your service work for me?

We find that people who trade options use our market guidance to help determine market direction and our stock alerts to use as possible candidates for options positions. Since all of our alerts are based upon technical analysis, you should be able to use them for trading options as long as you are knowledgeable about the options process.
